Vanilla’s Training Log 12-14-14 to 12-20-14

Another week in the books!

12/14:  Wanted to do a local 5K race, but the weather conditions were awful, so I thought I would hop on the treadmill for a time trial.  After 3 minutes, it was obvious my body wanted nothing of it, so after mile 1 in 6:38, I shut it down and jogged easy.  5.30 miles in 40 minutes.  1,500m swim in the evening.

12/15:  5.6 miles in 40:10 with 7 quarter mile intervals.  Felt great!

12/16:  30 minutes weights/30 minutes spinning before work.  4.2 miles in 32:06 back to work after dropping off my dog.

12/17: A few weights then 1,800m swim in the morning.  Easy 5.2 miles with a co-worker in the afternoon.

12/18:  4x 5 minutes around or just under goal half marathon pace.  Total 5.75 miles.  Enjoyed happy hour(s) after work with my group of friends.

12/19:  Ran 5.15 miles in 49:57.  Ran up Sanitas Mountain which is a little over one mile of trail straight up overlooking Boulder.  Not too technical, but still need to watch footing.  Good training for the glutes and quads.

12/20:  Weights, followed by 5.25 miles with 25 minutes around 7:30 pace.  It warmed up to the high 40s later in the day, so I layered up and went for a short ride of just under 15 miles.  So many cyclists out taking advantage of the warmer temps before winter arrived!

Weekly Totals:

Running:  36.45 miles

Biking:  30 minutes spinning + 14.85 miles

Swimming:  2.05 miles

Weight Training:  1:40
