My race season officially ended this week with the Rev 3 Half in Florida on Sunday. After 4 days of beautiful weather, Mother Nature decided to make us work for it by giving us rain, wind, current, puddles and a sandbar to walk over while swimming. Being literally at sea level, the course was super-fast which made it a little more bearable with the weather.
My plan after the race was to take off one full week then ease back into things for the next couple of weeks. I was really looking forward to the time off!
11/9: Rev 3 Half ironman! I’m working on a race report, so I’ll spare a lot of details here… windy, rainy, 55 degrees, wet, waves… it was a challenging day on an easy course. Ended up with a 34 second PR (ha!) and a podium with 3rd AG. Finally broke the 1:45 half run with a 1:42. My first podium finish at a major triathlon.
11/10: REST! Watched TV, sat in the sun. Ate fudge for breakfast. Flew back to Colorado to be greeted with snow and 10 degrees!
11/11: Still nothing! Not having any issues with it!
11/12: Nada, nothing, zilch.
11/13: Really at peace with myself for not doing anything. Started to think about exercising, but that lasted about 30 seconds.
11/14: 50 crunches and 20 push-ups in the morning. Happy hour(s) after work!
11/15: 50 crunches + 21 push-ups + 10 sit-ups. It was a snowy and cold day in Boulder, which was a perfect day to stay indoors, watch lots of football and clean out my closet!
