Vanilla’s Easing Back Training Log 11-17-13

After a week off of much needed rest, I slowly start back up this week.  But, I took it easy and listened to my body.  Honestly, it wasn’t until Friday when the feeling of exhaustion finally went away.  I still plan to take it easy in November and focus on running base in December.

Sunday:  First workout since IM, which was an easy bike ride of 14.5 miles.

Monday:  Weights/core in the morning; 1.500 swim in the evening.

Tuesday:  4 miles @ 8:50 average.  My first run since IM.  The first mile was in 9:12, and my bones were cracking, and I felt all sorts of aches.  But, after a mile, things started to loosen up, and I even managed to do 3* 20 seconds of light strides at the end.

Wednesday:  5 miles easy with my dear friend, Cathy, and some weights in the evening.

Thursday:  Rest.  Running two consecutive days made me feel exhausted again!

Friday:  Weights/core.

Saturday:  6 miles in 57:00 with my coaching group.  My first run back with them since IM, and it was great to be out.  It was a beautiful morning, and even though it was only 40, I could wear short sleeves because the sun was so intense, and there was no wind.  It was lovely!

Weekly Totals:

Running:  15 miles

Biking:  14.5 miles

Swimming:  1,500 yards

Weights:  90 minutes
