Spearmint’s Training Log 5/15/16

Last week was a good week training-wise! Got some solid workouts in and the weather was awesome!

Monday: 4 miles in the morning/9.5 miles in the evening. I decided my goal was to be able to do aย pistol squatย and went super crazy squatting, lunging, jumping, etc. I knew I had gone a little hard when I could barely walk after the first set. Of course in my mind, not being able to walk meant that I was on my way to rock hard quads and buns of steel…until I woke up on Tuesday morning….

Tuesday: I got out of bed and literally fell down because of how sore my legs were. How can I be so out of shape yet in shape at the same time?!?! Unfortunately for me, I had a hard workout that evening, which my coach graciously offered to push back to the next day. That of course, made me more determined to kill the workout on Tuesday. I think he might be using reverse psychology to stop me from being a whiny baby during workouts…but anyways. 4 mile shuffle in the morning/1x mile off track followed by 2 k’s. Repeat x3. Aside from burning legs, I felt strong!

Wednesday: 4 miles in the morning/10 miles in the evening. The leg situation did not improve

Thursday: 4 miles in the morning/10 miles in the evening. Still regretting legs day.

Friday: Progressive long run. First 6 miles relaxed followed by 6 cut-down miles and 4.5 relaxed miles to finish it off. Felt great again!

Saturday: 9 miles in the morning/4 miles in the evening

Sunday: 4 mile easy day

Total: 90
