Salty’s Training Log – 7.8.12

19 weeks! We had our big ultrasound on Friday. We debated back and forth about whether to find out the gender. We found out with the other two and at the last minute resolved not to find out, but we’d both study the image on the screen to see if we could see something ๐Ÿ™‚ Baby booboo looks amazingly healthy and everything looks great. There was a slight concern about the structure of the amniotic sac at our 12 week scan so my midwife advised to lay-off the harder running. But with this latest scan I’ve been cleared to do whatever I want (within reason of course!) So I snuck in some strides on Saturday. I was hesitant to race because of that too, so might jump in something in the next few weeks for fun.

Our very healthy Baby Booboo salutes you.

I’m sure you already know it was hotter than balls this week in these parts. I was able to get out super early on July 4th with my husband home and he took Friday off too so I was able to sneak out early then as well. So even with the incredible heat indexes everyday I managed to run and only once on the mill. Oh, and I finally got another 50 mile week in the books. Operation Stay Kinda in Shape might actually have a chance at success!

Mon: 6 hilly and hot miles with friends at 8:44 pace.

Tue: 5 pushing the kids trying to beat a thunderstorm.

Wed: 10.5 on the bridle trails averaging 9:14

Thu: 6 on the treadmill averaging 8:40

Fri: 6.5 on the bike path. Slow run of death averaging 9:13.

Sat: 4 with 6 x :25 strides! averaging 8:34

Sun: 12 with Michelle averaging ~8:35.

Total: 50! 50! 50! Wooo!

  1. You are amazing, lady. Big woop woop for a very healthy baby too! BTW I can’t believe how good sonogram images are now….They certainly did not look like that when I had my boys.

    1. I think they’ve improved since our first! It’s so cool to already have an incling about what he or she will look like. Definitely resembles our son more than our daughter at least right now. Congrats on your 50 MPW too!
