Salty’s Training Log – 7.22.12

21 weeks! Maybe it was just this week, but it seems noticeably more difficult to squeeze the amount of miles I want in. I am not as able to tolerate crazyย early wake-ups as I seemed to just a couple of weeks ago. I’d like to get the miles back to the 45 – 50 range again, but then again anything overย 40 is pretty good too. Anyway, I had a nice long run with Calamity-Ginger this morning. I haven’t run with her in forever because she kept injuring herself in freakish ways. So glad she’s getting healthy! I missed her!

Post-run photo featuring my big head.
Trying to make Ginger’s head look bigger than mine, but that just might be impossible ๐Ÿ™‚

Mon: off

Tue: 4.6 on the mill (8:54 avg)

Wed: 8.5 with first 1.5 on the bridle path and then last 7 on the tm.

Thu: 6 with Ginger’s boyfriend James and the kiddos.

Fri: 7.3ย early by myself since husband took the day off. Averaged 8:51. Slow first 6 and then dropped a blazin’ 7:37 for my last mile.

Sat: 6 on the bridle path with no watch by myself.

Sun: 12 with Ginger (9:06 avg). So nice to get out with such great company. Slow, but we both ran pretty late theย evening before and we ran a hilly route so was to beย expected.

Total: 44.4

Salty Running boss and mother of 3 little ones with PRs of 3:10:15 (26.2), 1:25:59 (13.1) and 18:15 (5k). I love to write about running culture, mental training, and fitting in a serious running habit with the rest of a busy life.
