Salty’s Training Log – 12.27.15

I didn’t do too bad this week despite my sickness lingering and the holidays. I’ve been coughing all week and then took a turn for the slightly worse on Chistmas Eve, so I headed to the urgent care the day after Christmas. 3 hours later, I have meds for a respiratory infection. It’s this time of year for me!

On the running front, I’m looking at another light week coming up and then beginning to rebuild my base to start training again! Woo!

Christmas was pretty enjoyable. I’m not the most Christmassy person, but this year with kids aged 3-7 it was super fun. They really loved every second about it and that definitely made it really wonderful for us grown-ups too.

We had our second regular Northeast Ohio Salty Running run yesterday and had another great turnout despite pretty crappy weather (again!) We’re going to be hosting another run with a Cleveland running store and spinning studio we love on Sunday. If you’re interested, check our Facebook page for details!

Hope you all had a great holiday season and have a wonderful New Year too!

Mon: 6 easy from the Y with my friend Julie!

Tue: 7.5 with my friend Mina!

Wed: 6 easy with my husband taking turns pushing our daughter.

Thu: off

Fri: 6 easy on trails with my husband again!

Sat: off again.

Sun:10 with the Salty group -sub 8:00 average. Ooooo. Actually, I had to run the last 4.5 alone because I had to hit the bathroom and I made everyone keep going so they didn’t have to stand around getting drenched. It’s ok. I felt good and ran a good pace.

Total: 35.5

Salty Running boss and mother of 3 little ones with PRs of 3:10:15 (26.2), 1:25:59 (13.1) and 18:15 (5k). I love to write about running culture, mental training, and fitting in a serious running habit with the rest of a busy life.
