It was cold this morning and our sitter came a little later than usual. My husband and I had a date to run, but for some reason I have a hard time getting motivated to run past a certain point on weekend mornings. I also ran on the later side yesterday and was stuck on the mill, which I’m sure didn’t help my situation. But yeah, I wasn’t real excited to do a long run, even if it was pretty short at twelve miles. But, much to my surprise, we had fun and the miles flew by. I even pushed the last mile or so hard because I was feeling it.
Mon: Easy 6 on the tm in my basement. Perfectly timed it to a Jessica Jones episode. 8:45ish.
Tue: NO TIME. Argh. Took way longer to get three kids packed and ready to go to the Y than one. Big kids had a snow day, so I guess I should be happy to get in anything. Had a nice big tempo workout on tap, but had to settle for a 5.25 aggressive progression run where I started at 8:40 and ended at 6:40.
Wed: Screwed myself out of time AGAIN. 5 miles on the treadmill squeezed in before kids got off the bus … barely. Actually uttered the words, “There’s the bus! I gotta get my pants on!”
Thu: 7.75 outside from the Y. The roads were so awful! Did a 25 minute warm-up and then found the one clear stretch and did 10 x 1:00 hard/1:00 easy before cooling down. Eased into the harder reps. Felt good to move the legs!
Fri: 8 on the treadmill at the Y – 8:30ish pace. Enjoyed chatting with my friend Julie next to me, even if I feel like I have to constantly censor myself at the Y (hehe). Took a quick water break at 3 and 6 to mentally cope.
Sat: 6 miles easy on the treadmill – 8:40ish.
Sun: 12 miles, mostly with my husband. Last mile push.
