Two weeks in a row of what one could call actual training (or at least a good start). Not quite as much running this week, but picked up the effort on both the bike and the run so we’ll call it even.
Monday-60 minute trainer ride with the boyfriend watching some awful back of the pack video of a previous years Barry Roubaix
Tuesday-55 minute lunch run
Wednesday-90 minute trainer ride at the local bike shop
Friday-65 minute lunch run
Saturday- 110 minute trainer ride, kept it mostly aerobic but worked a few of the hill and tempo sets
Warm up, 10 mile team time trial on the computrainers, cool down
Sunday-62 minute run, pushed the pace a bit to see the front of the packers and worked my way back to the mid pack of our Sunday group run and decided to keep the effort there. Foot felt fine, lungs are definitely not where they used to be, and the cold combined with the increased pace made the left side a bit tight. Nothing to worry over though.
Saturdays trainer race was the highlight of the week. Up until now I really had no gauge of bike fitness, as I am a terrible drafter and don’t really enjoy group riding I just assumed I was doomed at Barry Roubaix. But according to the time trial numbers, my legs are actually in decent shape and capable of putting out some power. Which is good news as Barry Roubaix is 4 short weeks away.
