This was my first week really back into cross training/tri-training. And it made me kind of tired. I am definitely not in Tri-shape anymore! Salty’s post about listening to your body and not just pushing through with “the plan” was very timely. Though I did not meet my goal of 3x Bike Commuting, I feel good about the week in general.
In other news I impulsively signed up for a 50k (my first) in May.
Sunday (1/18): Still at the beach on Sunday! Though I roused myself from intensive book-reading to run a short and extremely windy route to the Newport Aquarium. Run: 4.5 miles
Monday (1/19): I had this day off of work, which was marvelous. Run: 9 miles
Tuesday (1/20): Back to my normal schedule, though I am steering clear of Master’s Swim for now, as I am not swim fit. . .Swim: 1100 yds, Run: 5 miles
Wednesday (1/21): First “work out” was the most ridiculous of work outs. . .1 x 1 mile. . . : ) Bike: 14 miles, Run: 5.5 miles (1 mile @ 5:57)
Thursday (1/22): I was definitely feeling tired by the end of this day, and as a result decided to drive-commute on Friday. Also everyone I know is getting the flu so I figured getting more sleep is probably good for immune defenses. Bike: 18 miles, Run: 5.5 miles
Friday (1/23): Swim: 2200 yds
Saturday (1/24): Run: 6 miles
Swim: 1.87 miles
Bike: 32 miles
Run: 35.5 miles
