Hello Salty readers!
I don’t have much fitness to report for the month of December and I’m not really thrilled about that fact. Life, work + injury have really done a number on me. I started revving up with pilates, which was awesome. But then I completely overdid it with an arm workout and was in grueling pain for a week. Add in business trips, my husband’s 40th birthday, our 14th wedding anniversary and upcoming Christmas and, well, the numbers simply aren’t impressive.
Even worse, since I have taken a hiatus from running, I have been feeling pretty crappy. Tired, sluggish, up 10+ lbs. Boo. I need to get back at it. My numbers for the whole year are pretty sad frankly and I really need to get my head back into the training game. After I heal my #@!&* shoulder that is. For now, I need to stop being a complete slacker and find a happy medium so I can retain my sanity and my health (even if not badassness – that is a word, right?)
This week I made a bit of an attempt. I did pilates 2 times and ran 4 times. All of my runs were on the treadmill and they weren’t too bad at all. Nothing ground-breaking, but a start is a start.
Today I ran outside for an hour on slippery roads, but it was fun and it made me realize how much I need my running time – even if I do have to deal with some shoulder pain for it.
I am hoping that with the holiday weeks, I’ll be able to get back on track.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
