Introducing Pepper!

So what’s a site called Salty Running doing without a Pepper? It’s like pancakes without syrup, Barbie without Ken or Yin without Yang. Finally, the site is balanced. Meet Elizabeth, our very own Pepper! And as her name implies, expect a little pop, pizazz and spice from her posts.

Oo la la! Pepper is spicy!

Besides offering a little zest to the site, Pepper is one of the speediest runners I know. What really makes her PRs impressive is that she didn’t start at the front of the pack. Through hard work and focus this girl went from a 3:39 marathoner to a 2:49 marathoner!

As Pepper enters her 30’s she is experiencing some big transitions in both her running and non-running lives. I know she’ll tell you all about it in her no-holds barred style. If you know her in real life, you know she doesn’t hold much back! And do I know her in real life. Oh yes, I do! She is one of my best friends and favored training partners. We’ve been running together for a long time now and I can safely say no mile run with Pepper is a boring mile!

You may have run with her too as she has an impressive pacing resume and has paced marathons all over the country. One of my favorite things about her is that she gives so much back to the sport she loves, including writing for Salty Running!

  1. Note to self: be sure to avoid any local races featuring Salty and Pepper until you are fully healed. In fact, you should probably avoid such races for quite some time.
