Ginkgo’s Training Log 6.14.14

Counting down the days until Baby Sexton arrives! I’ve been transitioning to what I call “running walks”. I run (approximately a 9:45 minute pace these days) for about 5 minutes, walk about 2 minutes, run again about 5 minutes (you get the point) for a 2 or 3 mile loop. Between the growing pressure, Braxton Hick’s, and immediate urge to pee every time I leave the house (no matter how much I try to empty my bladder….every….2 …. minutes), this is what my body is telling me to do. So, it’s what I’m doing! I’ve been squeezing in 10 minute prenatal pilates about 3 times per week to help with flexibility as labor gets closer. I’m just happy that I’ve managed to keep active and healthy without any major complications (knock on wood!). I’ll have my 37 week check up on Tuesday!

6/8: ย 2 mile loop with my hubby and Otto (I LOVE running with people and my dog at this point; anything that takes the focus off ofย me and my self-conscious attitude that everyone is staring at me; one thing that pregnancy has taught me: HUMBLE PIE is good for the soul).

Monday, 6/9: 2 mile loop and 10 minute ‘total body’ pilates

6/10: 2 mile loop with Otto and 30 minute walk with him later (extra bonding time with the pup before the baby takes over! We’ve even been letting him sleep upstairs in bed with us…whoops, we might regret this!)

6/11: 2 mile loop with Otto and 10 minute ‘total body’ pilates

6/12: 3 mile loop with Otto

6/13: 3 mile loop with Otto and 10 minute ‘total body’ pilates

6/14: 2 miles before heading to my sister’s baby shower! She is 31 weeks along and having a baby girl!

Total: 16 miles at 36.5 weeks pregnant…I’ll take it!
