Hey guys! I finally feel like my miles this week are worth a training log post! I’ve been slowly working on amping up the miles and increasing pace, and now that I’m seven weeks postpartum, I’ve officially gotten the clear to train for the Columbus Half Marathon, which will be October 19th! I’m super pumped to be back to feeling more like myself (minus a few residual effects like engorged/full breasts from breastfeeding; cramping from dehydration/my organs realigning or something to that effect), and proud that I was able to run two 5-milers this weekend ( I know it seems miniscule compared to the 10-milers, 20-milers, 50-milers that so many are pounding out in preparation for fall racing season, but to me…it’s a big win!). I’ve been running between 4:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. every morning since this is the time that Connor is sleeping and before Sam leaves for work, so I think my body is still adjusting to this time swap, too. I used to run closer to the 7:30 am hour pre-baby!
Monday 8/4 – 3 mile jog around neighborhood & 1 hour walk with Connor
Tuesday 8/5 – 3.5 mile at an 8:50 pace
Wednesday 8/6 – A 5k route at a 7:53 pace and 1 hour of sunset yoga at Hoover Dam
Thursday 8/7 – 4.1 miles at a 7:46 pace & 1 hour walk with Connor
Friday 8/8 – 4.5 miles around 7 minute pace (best I’ve felt!)
Saturday 8/9 – 5 miles at 8:30 pace
Sunday 8/10 – 5.5 miles at 8:40 pace (lots of cramping, yuck!)
