Greetings from scenic Vermont!  I spent the week with my family hiking, swimming in lakes, going to beer festivals and doing other Vermonty things…a lovely end-of-summer vacation.  I continued to adjust to my new running program of two speed workouts and a long run, and enjoyed some beautiful but very hilly mountain runs while I was here.  So sad to leave tomorrow – I could get used to this!

Monday: 5 Miles –2 mile w/up: 3 X 45 and 3 X 30 seconds p.e.* 8.5 (hard, not very hard) with full recovery

Tuesday: 3.6 miles (rolling hills, pe 5-6 ) and 40 min strength training

Wednesday: 5 Miles (over hills, pe 5-6), strides and core

Thursday: 6 Miles: 1.5 Mile warm-up, drills and strides, then 5 minutes at a p.e. of 7.5, 1 min. recov., 4 min. p.e. 7.5, 1 min. recov., 3 mins p.e. 8.5, 2 mins. recov, 2 mins. p.e. 8.5, 2 mins recov, 1 min. p.e. 8.5, recov

Friday: Core, hip mobility, stretching

Saturday: 7.7 miles: 75 extremely hilly minutes with 1 min. every 6-10 minutes (it varied based on terrain) at a p.e. of 6.5

Sunday: 5 Miles easy (pe 4-5.5)

*My coach uses a perceived exertion scale from 1-10, so this is why these pe numbers appear in my log
