Comment of the week – 11.30.2013

Who wins the badge this week?

It’s a week of firsts here at Salty Running – the first Salty Running meet-up yesterday (I wish I could have been there!) and our first major giveaway (Win a pair of running shoes)! It was also Thanksgiving, of course, and many of us started the day with some pre-meal activity to fuel our appetite with a Turkey Trot.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, we’ve got a lot to be thankful for around here, but the top of our list is our readers. We love to know you are reading from the comments you leave and your social media love (have you “liked” us on Facebook yet?). For this week’s winner of the ultimate Salty honor, the comment of the week, follow the break!

Drumroll please…

This week we selected Kathy who commented on Wasabi’s Race Recap!

What an amazing way to finish! That is a killer drop in time! I’m hoping to head towards the 1:30 land in the next year and your experience was great to hear about. I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets freaked out by numbers.

I can totally relate to the idea of 6:52 sounding crazy. There is something about the drop from a 7 to a 6 that scares me. Of course, the same thing happened dropping from a 9 to an 8 and from an 8 to a 7. You’d think we could all learn to just trust our training and believe in ourselves.

Kathy has an excellent point – after we set the goals and put in the training, we just have to trust. Best of luck to her as she goes for her 1:30 PR. We trust she’ll do it! Thank you so much for your comment and for reading!

We hope your Thanksgiving week was fun and family-filled. Let’s us know how your turkey trot went (if you had one) and keep those comments coming!
