Monday: Fun run
3ish miles (9-10 min pace)
I watched a cross country race that some of my friends were running in. I did not feel up to racing after a rough running weekend, but I did a warm up and cool down with them, about 3 miles total. I’ll tell ya-grass running is tough!
push ups, planks
2 mile warm up, 10 X 100 (18, then all 17’s), 2 mile cool down
I rarely do 100’s but I wanted to get my fast twitch muscle fiber activated. Notice that fiber is singular, because I figure I have one of them at most.
p.m. easy 3 miles

3 miles (8:19)
This was a good run with the bf and daughter.
2ish miles (8:30ish)
I ran a mile and had to stop because of a bad side stitch under my right rib. I went out at an 8:15 pace, so it is not like it was too fast for my fitness level. I stopped and stretched. I jogged back only because I had to get back somehow. The stitch did not go away so I quit. I rarely get side stitches, but when I do, it seems to be diet-related. That morning I ate breakfast out-it was delicious, but the peanut butter sauce on the pancakes must not have agreed with me. I have only ever had side stitches after eating out. It was about six hours between when I last ate and when I ran, but that sauce must have stuck to my ribs-literally.
7 miles (8:16)
I tried to run easy but felt pretty blah-my easy pace seems slower than it should be right now.
Saturday: Four Leaf Clover Run 4 mile race
2 miles warm up, 4 mile race (26:07), 1 mile cool down
This was a fun race, although extremely hilly through Glendale Cemetery in Akron. I ran it last year and I knew that it was not a race to be run for time. For example, miles 3 and 4 were 7:06 (LONG climb) and 5:59 (downhill into the stadium). All though my time was not fast, it actually looked better than it was because I had the course a hair short. I also tried to run every tangent possible through the winding cemetery. It was for a great cause-raising money for cancer patients. I was happy to get a great workout in and to help a good cause, and also to walk away with first female and get some sweet prizes.

Sunday: Long Run
14 miles (8:01)
I went earlier this week and also ran on a flat towpath-it was much needed after the hill run the previous day. Mentally I needed to complete this long run after last week’s confidence crushing run-turned-walk. It is going to be a hot summer-I need to get used to getting up early if I want to run long.
push ups, planks
Total Miles: 44
This was not a high mileage week but I did get in a quicker speed workout. My body still did not feel great this week but hopefully things will improve soon.
