Cayenne’s Training Log 5.28.17

I love post-run eggs. Especially when I get a double yolk!

Monday: Easy Run

3 miles (8:30)

Tuesday: Plyo Workout

a.m. 2.35 mile warm up, form drills and strides, 1 mile cool down

p.m. 5 miles (8:01)

legs

Thursday: Tempo/Fartlek Run

8 miles (7:43)

2 mile warm up, 4 miles of running mixed with 4 X 3 minutes fast and recoveries, 2 mile cool down

Again, this workout of 800ish intervals seemed easier than 800 intervals on the track.

push ups, planks

Friday: Run

6 miles (7:58)

Saturday: Run

12 miles (8:01)

This was my longest run since the marathon.  It was on a flat path and I felt fine.

light strength

Sunday: Run

4.5 miles (8:37)

I tried to go easy because of a 5k race the following day.  I planned on 3-5 depending on how I felt.  On this day an 8:37 pace felt easy and I got tired at 4.5 miles, so I stopped.

push ups, planks

Total Miles: 42.5

I am still running at reduced mileage.  I am not training for anything specific, just trying to develop some speed for shorter summer races.  My body finally feels recovered from my marathon, I think!

I am a dedicated runner and classical musician. I am currently chasing a sub-3 hour marathon (3:00:38 PR). I often feel like the underdog going up against "serious" runners-I took up running after college, I do not have a typical "runner's body type", and I am mostly self-coached. I travel a lot to perform with different orchestras and run when I can, where I can. I love to (over) eat and that is my number one motivation for running! Follow me as I chase my goals!
