Cayenne’s Training Log – 10.22.17

Post-Marathon Recovery Week 4

I found a friend during my run on Thursday.

Monday: Run

8 recovery miles (9:15)

Tuesday: Strength

light arms, abs

I was going to run but I was too tired from lots of work/driving.

Wednesday: Run

8.5 miles (8:27)

push ups, planks

Thursday: Run/Speed

3.5 miles (7:47)

8 X 100 meters (18, 18, 18, 17, 17, 17, 17, 17)

3 miles (8:35)

I played two morning concerts, drove 3 hours, and then busted out this run before a rehearsal.  I ran in a beautiful area and also found a high school track to do the 100s.  I was sleep deprived and stiff legged, as I have been on most of my runs this month!

Friday: X Train

I had wanted to run but it was dark by the time I was free.  I took advantage of the hotel elliptical/bike/weights.

1 hour elliptical

25 min. bike

arms, abs

Saturday: Run

8 miles (8:16)

This was another sleep deprived/fatigued body run, but it made me feel better.

Sunday: Long Run

13.5 miles (8:04)

This was my longest run since the marathon.  I caught up on sleep and finally felt better.

Total miles: 45

I had a busy work schedule but ran what I could this week.

I am a dedicated runner and classical musician. I am currently chasing a sub-3 hour marathon (3:00:38 PR). I often feel like the underdog going up against "serious" runners-I took up running after college, I do not have a typical "runner's body type", and I am mostly self-coached. I travel a lot to perform with different orchestras and run when I can, where I can. I love to (over) eat and that is my number one motivation for running! Follow me as I chase my goals!
