Wednesday: Run

9 miles (7:34)

Good partial course run of the Canton marathon.  I might run this marathon in the spring so I wanted to see what the course is like.  I will try to do longer runs on the course in the future to see how my legs do.

Thursday: Speed

1.2 mile warm up

400 (1:30), 800 (3:08), 1200 (4:42), 400 (4:43), 800 (3:07), 400 (1:29)

1.5 mile cool down

This was my first speed session since the marathon.  I ran it with my OH training partner…I don’t think I would have been motivated enough to do it alone.  It was like ripping off a bandaid.  I did not try to hammer it and my times were slow but it still felt hard.  It was a little rainy which didn’t help.  I will try to get my times down again but this was a good starting point.

Friday: Cross train

1 hour elliptical

bike, rower, brief abs

Saturday: Long run

12 miles (7:47)

This was a good run but my legs felt like it was a 16 miler by the end.

Sunday: Easy run

8.5 miles (7:52)

This was a nice easy run on a flat path with friends.

I am a dedicated runner and classical musician. I am currently chasing a sub-3 hour marathon (3:00:38 PR). I often feel like the underdog going up against "serious" runners-I took up running after college, I do not have a typical "runner's body type", and I am mostly self-coached. I travel a lot to perform with different orchestras and run when I can, where I can. I love to (over) eat and that is my number one motivation for running! Follow me as I chase my goals!
