Last week I was so eager to break the rules and take my boot off early, but unfortunately wearing an actual shoe on this foot feels too bizarre. IT DOES NOT HURT. It just feels strange and foreign! I saw my sports medicine doctor on Thursday, and he gave me a “return to running” program that I can start in two weeks. Also… In two weeks I’ll be at my new home in Southern Spain!!! Lots of exciting changes will be happening in my world in the coming weeks! I found out today, Monday night because I’m late as usual, that my Visa was finally approved and completed, so I’ll fly to Europe as originally planned in 9 short days! Thankfully I’ll be freed from my walking boot before my six-month Spanish excursion.
Monday – Boot during the day. No boot after 5pm. Dinner with Ginkgo and friends. Being around a fellow Salty was enough to make me feel like I’ve trained all winter.
Tuesday – 30 minute strength training. OMG! I did exercise!!! 15 minutes of ab work, 10 minutes of arm work, 5 minutes of glute work. I put minimal pressure on my healing foot. Boot 9-12 and 1-5.
Wednesday – Boot 9-12 and 1-5.
Thursday – Sports Medicine appt. I was advised to be in the boot full-time one more week. Oops! PS: I’ve been in this boot six weeks, guys…
Friday – My last day of work at my full-time job for the last two years! Bigger and better things, here I come!
Sunday – I bought this baller shirt.
