The Mini is done. There are no significant race plans on the horizon, just a few fun 5K runs here and there. I did not do any running at all this week. I did do some lower impact exercise and stayed pretty active this week, though! So here it is, my non-running week of workouts!
5/7 – After the Mini on Saturday and a bike ride on Sunday, I kept today as a rest day after a long day of work.
5/8 – Today I went for a nice walk after work, a little over 2 miles. It’s been pleasant here in the evenings and there are plenty of people out exercising in some way shape or form. No ice cream truck this time. Bummer.
5/9 – I rode my bike around town a little bit before meeting up with my friend, Sarah, for a toning class. The air conditioner was being worked on in the building, so there was no AC at the time. It wasn’t too bad in the morning, and we made sure to stand next to some fans 🙂 We did not overheat, but man, did we kill our triceps. Mine were sore for 2 days afterward. I could barely demonstrate arm exercises with my patients the next day. After the toning class, I decided to ride a little more on my bike – taking a longer, more scenic ride home around some of the town’s parks. I ended up riding a little over 11 miles total on my bike that day.
5/10 – Took it easy after work. Nothing exciting to report here today!
5/11 – Went for a 2 mile early morning walk through the neighborhood. By then end of the walk, I was not feeling so good. I figured maybe once I ate some more food I would be fine, but the yucky feeling just stuck around. I went to work in the morning, but had to leave after lunch. Ugh. I went home and took a nap. A much needed nap. It took awhile for the feeling to finally go away. My husband and I went for another short walk just to get me out of the house for a bit later in the evening.
5/12 – I slept for more than 9 hours, I really needed that! Feeling better this morning. I went for another bike ride on the town trails. It was a nice morning, overcast so it wasn’t super hot! I ended up going for another 11 mile bike ride. I also did a short one mile walk after this.
5/13 – Happy Mother’s Day! No workouts today for me. Resting my heel, which seems to have a dull ache returning to it. Going to make sure I take good care of that!
My plan is to do a few short runs this week. I have a fun 5K on Tuesday after work with tacos at the end of the run. How could I not sign up for that? Have a glorious week, Salties!
