This week was planned to be a pretty low mileage/activity week because of other commitments! One of my friends is getting married in June, so I attended her bachelorette party up in Buffalo, New York this weekend. With all the activities scheduled (and way too much cheese), I did not get any runs in over the weekend. The Mini Marathon is coming up next Saturday. It is always a fun race, and I am looking forward to enjoying it without the pressure of racing. So here is a very unexciting training log for the past week.
4/23 – I did a 35 minute walk on the treadmill at a slight incline after work. I am glad I got this in, as it was one of the few workouts I did this week. It is never easy convincing myself to do physical activity after a long day of work.
4/24 – A rest day. I worked a little longer today than a normal Tuesday because I knew I would not be at work on Friday. It’s hard trying to squeeze patients into a week with one less day of patient care!
4/25 – Morning run (and not bad temperature wise) with my friend, Danielle! I got in 4.3 miles (10:07 min/mi) before going to a much needed yoga class. Oh man. I love yoga. My favorite poses are child’s pose and corpse pose 😉 It is definitely something that helps me with my stress and focus on deep breathing!
4/26 – I took a short walk break during my lunch break because it was so beautiful outside! It was good for the soul to get out and enjoy the fresh air. It was another long day at work, and then I went home to finish packing up for my upcoming trip!
4/27 – I woke up at 4:30 in the morning to get ready for my early morning flight. I envy those who get up this early to run. I really want to be one of those people, but just have not found the motivation to do so yet! I spent my day traveling and then hanging out with the bachelorette and other friends in Buffalo.
4/28 – A day full of bachelorette activities! I thought maybe I would get a run in in the morning, but after pizza and lots of cheese the night before, I’m not sure my intestines would have survived.
4/29 – I spent many hours today in airports. I had a 3.5 hour layover in the Baltimore airport, so I ended up doing a lot of laps throughout the terminals. I got a few miles in just doing that!
I didn’t get a long run in over the weekend. I am planning on doing this tomorrow. My final long run before the mini will be about 6 miles. Hoping to get back into my routine this week and have a great time at the Mini!
