Barberry Training Log 10/29-11/11

I am getting through weeks 34-35 of pregnancy. It is becoming more and more real that this baby is coming … and soon! We have been spending the last few weeks going through all of our gifts and organizing the nursery. I have been washing clothes, and blankets, and everything else it seems. I wouldn’t necessarily call it nesting … there is no miraculous burst of energy. I am convinced that term is a lie. I would say it is getting done because it has to get done! Baby girl is growing and appears to be dropping lower in my abdomen. This means I am going to the bathroom more frequently! I have been going to the OBGYN every other week and will soon start weekly appointments. I continue to do my walking adventures, but man, am I tired!

10/29 – Nothing of note as far as exercise goes. Fine by me. I am wiped!

10/30 – I did a 2.5 mile walk on the treadmill after work, while catching up on some shows. I got a call from my husband not long after I was done to let me know that there was a snake in our garage. It was not a big snake, but we definitely did not want it hanging around our house, inviting all of his little snake friends over. He was properly disposed of with some teamwork.

10/31 – Happy Halloween! This morning was a little cool. I was able to walk about 3.5 miles, with some pressure on my bladder, even with walking with the belt. I started washing baby clothes today, feeling only slightly overwhelmed at all of the things that I need to clean and sterilize at this point! Oh well. We had lots of trick-or-treaters, but I definitely stole a few pieces for myself. Especially the Milky Ways and Twix bars … mmmm…

11/1 – Today my co-workers threw me a baby shower after work! I am lucky to have such awesome co-workers!

11/2 – I did a 2 mile walk on the treadmill before work. This is my new Friday morning routine vs. my usual run outside. Walking outside in the dark just does not sound as fun as running in it. TV shows and music motivate my miles on the treadmill. Another baby appointment today. Everything is still going along well and she still has a strong heartbeat going on!

11/3 – This weekend was the Monumental Marathon Race Weekend. My husband ran the half marathon and I walked the 5K. I did jog the first quarter mile, just to say that I tried. I was content to walk after that. My baby belly is weighing me down. I did manage to walk along at a pretty quick clip. I was able to finish, go to the bathroom, and cheer my husband on as he finished his half. It was a great day to run, which I was pretty envious of! Last year at this time, I was running the marathon! I am pretty sure the male and female winners of both the half marathon and the marathon all had Olympic Trials Qualifying times, which is pretty incredible! Today is also my husband and my 6th wedding anniversary!

11/4 – Rest day!

11/5 – Took it easy after a long day at work. No true exercise for me. Standing for long periods of time at work has become my workout it seems.

11/6 – Did a 2.5 mile walk on the treadmill in the basement after work and dinner. I still feel like I am walking pretty well, I wouldn’t say I really “waddle” just yet!

11/7 – I had to bundle up for a chilly morning walk today. Decided to walk around a park again. There were still some leaves on the burning bushes in the front of the park. I love the red leaves! I did a 3.5 mile walk and used the various park benches around the trail to do some strengthening moves. I did some bodyweight squats, lunges, pushups, and tricep dips.

11/8 – Work and rest. My back really was bothering me after sitting in a specific chair to work on the online portion of my CPR recertification. Our very kind women’s health PT did some magic on me and that helped!

11/9 – Did a 2 mile walk on the treadmill in the morning before work. My latest treadmill entertainment has been watching Hallmark Holiday movies … Don’t judge me too harshly.

11/10 – This morning, I walked 3.2 miles on the treadmill. I had to stop and take a break in the middle of my walk to make sure I logged onto Ticketmaster at a reasonable time to get pre-sale Backstreet Boys concert tickets. Don’t worry, I got them 😉 It will be my Mom’s day out next September!

11/11 – Thank you, Veterans! No organized exercise, but spent more time with my husband organizing baby things and doing some more washing.

I will keep walking on and trying to do strength moves until this baby arrives. Weekly OB appointments start after this week and Thanksgiving is next week. Time is flying! Have a great week, everyone!
