Diary of an Injured Runner: Introduction

Just as I began the process of starting up Salty Running I became injured. My injury has at times blunted my enthusiasm to dive head-long into all things competitive running. It’s hard to be excited about much while moping around and not running! For weeks now I thought I was just one ART treatment or rest day away from getting back up to speed with my training, but as the weeks have gone by it’s clear that I have a way to go before I’m healthy enough to train. As I accept this fact I am suddenly inspired to document my experience and share it with the Salty Running community. Most of us will at some time experience an injury and in the spirit of sharing knowledge so that we might all take our running and our selves to the next level, I share my experience.

Salty Running boss and mother of 3 little ones with PRs of 3:10:15 (26.2), 1:25:59 (13.1) and 18:15 (5k). I love to write about running culture, mental training, and fitting in a serious running habit with the rest of a busy life. Currently recovering from my third pregnancy, heart surgery, diastasis recti, low iron/vitamin D, sciatic nerve impingement, overtraining, mono. What can I say? I'm stubborn.
