This was my view on the trails for my 20-miler! It was a beautiful Sunday morning!

Three weeks until the Eugene Marathon!  This week started on such a high note:  nice, 20 mile run, birthday, and a trip to Florida to visit my parents…..  But, it ended on somewhat of a sour note with a sore foot, which caused me to bag my long run over the weekend and wonder what is going on????

Sunday:  Easter Sunday!  Beautiful weather in Boulder made for a wonderful 20 miler just over 8:00 pace.  I felt relaxed and controlled, and it was definitely a confidence booster!

Monday:  Weights/core in the morning. Easy 3.4 miles at lunch.  When I say easy, I mean easy!  I may have been walking, but it was so refreshing!

Tuesday:  20 minute marathon pace run before catching a plane to Florida.

Wednesday:  I love sea level!  The altitude change made a huge difference in my run!  Total of 6.35 miles.  Afternoon swim of 800 meters to cool off after laying out by the pool.

Thursday:  Weights and core for about an hour.  I walked to and from the fitness center in my parents’ neighborhood, which was about 2 miles.  It was nice to just walk and take in the scenery!  This is when I started to notice my foot felt a little uncomfortable, but I didn’t think anything of it.

Friday:  6 miles in 95% humidity, but I could still tell a difference with the altitude.  No foot issues, but I swam 1,100 meters in the afternoon, and I felt it as I pushed off the wall. Grrr…..

Saturday:  Foot was stiff and sore when I woke up, so I decide to nix the 21 miler I had planned.  As much as it killed me to not run, I decided to not take any chances.  I was bummed because my dad was going to ride along with me to provide support…like my very own personalized SAG!  Instead, I opted to lift instead and just take it easy.

Weekly Totals:

Running: 41.3 miles

Biking:  Nothing!

Swimming:  1,900 meters  (1.18 miles)

Weight Training:  2 hours
