Vanilla’s Training Log 2-8-15 to 2-14-15

2/8:  60 + degrees, but the winds were over 30 mph, and there was no way I could ride outside.  So, I stayed put on the trainer with the intentions of riding 30.  After 20 miles, I had no tension on my back wheel, and I realized my tire was flat.  I stopped to put air in it and was able to ride another 10 miles with 5 x 90 seconds throughout the last 10 miles.    Headed out before dinner for a super easy 4 mile run–the winds weren’t as strong & it was nice to get outside!

2/9:  Easy 1,700m swim at lunch; weights in the evening.

2/10:  Double Run!  6.7 miles in the morning with 8 x 90 seconds at low 6:00 pace.  Helped coach a hill workout with my new running group.  Total mileage = 11.50

2/11:  Weights/4.8 miles in the morning.  2,550m swim in the evening!  Longest swim in months!

2/12:  7 miles in 50:25 with 2 minutes/4 minutes x 4.  Weights in the evening.

2/13:  Planned to ride 10-12 miles then 3 mile run.  Just over 2 miles into my ride, my tire went flat again.  I bagged the ride and ran 3 miles in just under 24 minutes.  It was about 65 out. so I snuck out around lunchtime for a swim!

2/14:  Bike Outside!!!  30 + miles.  Felt great to ride outside.  Last 10 miles was mostly hills, which killed my average pace, but I tried to keep the same effort.  Ran 6 miles before heading out to dinner.  Felt awful!  Stomach was still full from lunch, so it was a slow jog at times–but still great to get out!

Running:  36.3 miles

Biking:  62.95 miles

Swimming:  3.73 miles

Weights:  2+ hours
