This is it…the last week leading up to the RNR New Orleans Half Marathon. The forecast calls for rain, but I’m going to give it my best and try to catch a glimpse of some of the headliners: Mo Farrah, Kara Goucher and Shalane Flanagan, just to name a few! After, I plan to take part in the Bourbon Street activities. As for training, it was a solid week dodging some of the snowy weather here in Colorado. How appropriate after my post on YakTrax!
Sunday: Longest run in over a year and a half! Easy 16.5 miles at the Boulder Reservoir (Rez). Super slow–slow enough that my hubby drove to find me! Not recommended to go this long a week before a half, but the Eugene Marathon is at the end of April, and the mileage needs to increase.
Monday: 3,150 yds in the pool; weights and core
Tuesday: Easy double of ~13 miles.
Wednesday: Weights/core, then 45 mins on the trainer. Coached mile repeats in a snow storm later that evening! Super slow times, but lots of fun!
Thursday: Snow and ice made for 75 mins on the trainer and weights in the evening.
Friday: 9.5 miles easy.
Saturday: 5 miles easy with my dear hubby through the streets of the Big Easy!
Running: 50.4 miles
Biking: 1 hour; 45 mins (trainer)
Swimming: 3,150 yds (1.8 miles)
Weight Training: 2 hours
