Vanilla’s Training Log 2-1-15 to 2-7-15

Happy February!

2/1:  27+ miles on the trainer around 18 mph, followed by 4 mile run!

2/2:  Lift in the morning.  4.7 miles early afternoon.  Sunny and 55, but lots of puddles from the melting snow over the weekend.

2/3:  Workout fail!  Planned 2mins, 4mins x 4, but it was clear during the warm-up that my body wanted nothing of it.  Got through 1 set, then called it at 3 miles.  Joined up with a new running group later in the evening and got in 6.20 miles.

2/4:  2,250m swim in the morning.  Temps went from 60 to 30 with snow in just a matter of hours so it was tough to get to the pool.  Treadmill run of 4 miles in 30:45.

2/5:  Some core work before hopping on the trainer.  Only had time for about 12 miles.  Heart rate felt unusually high while riding.  5 mile run back to work after taking home my dog.

2/6:  1,600m swim at lunch.  Sunny and blue skies made for a great pool day!  Short brick workout in the evening:  11 miles on the trainer + 3.1 mile run.

2/7:  Weights, then 5 miles in 36:21.  5 x 3 mins at goal half marathon pace.  As much as I wanted to run harder, my goal was to get through a workout since it had been 2 weeks since I made it through a workout. We then went and watched the US XC Nationals! Great races, and it was near 70, so it made for a tough race.  So fun to watch!  Later, I went to the pool for 1,250m easy.

Biking:  50 miles

Swimming:  3.17 miles

Weights:  2 hours
