Christmas week training log!
12/21: 7 miles XC skiing about 2 hours west of Boulder. Beautiful scenery, fun with friends, and drinks after at the lodge.
12/22: 5.35 miles @ 42:14 before work. Weights in the evening.
12/23: 1,850m swim before work. 6 miles @ 42:35 with 8 quarters.
12/24: 13.25 miles on the trainer. Having a hard time getting back my cycling legs! Office closed early, s I was able to get in a nice, easy run before a yummy Christmas Eve dinner. 5.25 miles @ 44:24.
12/25: Merry Christmas! Got a late start after opening up presents and lounging. The big snowstorm of 10 inches made it an easy decision to run on the treadmill. Longest run in awhile: 6.65 miles in 52:14. Some weights, too. Spent the rest of the day watching holiday movies and snacking on treats sent to us by family. We spent the evening with our friends watching ‘The Interview.’ It wasn’t great, but not as stupid as I thought.
12/26: 5.6 miles in 40:02. 3 miles @ 20:07. I continue to struggle with breaking 20:00 for 3 miles. I guess I need to really focus on some short speed work? 17 miles on the trainer in the evening.
12/27: 1 hour of body pump focusing on squats, dead lifts and rows. The temp got up to 20 with blue skies and sun. Absolutely gorgeous! I couldn’t help but go out for a short run around the trails. It seems like all of Boulder was out enjoying the snow whether hiking, running, XC skiing, sledding, snowshoeing…. The snow was deep, making the footing tough, but it was gorgeous outside. I ran 4.70 in just under 50 minutes. Even though it was only 20 degrees, it was warm with long sleeves and tights. I actually took off my gloves! In the evening, I got in a 1600m swim. This day was clearly a lot for me, and I slept so well, I had no idea what day it was when I woke up the next morning!
