Happy 2015! I hope you all had a nice holiday and celebrated the new year in style! Here’s to new goals and challenges in 2015!
12/28: It was only 12 degrees with lots of snow still so I opted for the treadmill. Set it right under 8:00 pace with the goal of 1 hour and ran 7.65 miles. Longest run in awhile–building up the mileage. 18 miles on the Computrainer later in the evening. It wasn’t working right, so mileage is estimated based on pace. Tried to keep it steady.
12/29: 3.85 miles in 30:00.
12/30: 15 minutes then 3.2 miles in 22′. First few minutes felt harder than they should have, but got easier as the minutes progressed. Had to go to the bathroom, so no cool down. Total 5.15 miles. I was able to leave work early so I lifted a little then ran an easy 3.5 miles in just over 30:00. Double!
12/31: Some core work, then I hopped on the Computrainer for 20 miles. I am really going to focus on power (i.e. watts) during this training session so that I can get stronger on the bike. 20 miles in 1:03–average speed of 18.95 mph and 144 watts. (The pro women average over 200 watts-so I am nowhere near that)! Still pretty snowy, but the sun and blue sky made for a great 30 minute hike/jog with my friend Cathy on the trails–just in time for New Year’s festivities!
1/1: Happy 2015! We went to an Irish pub in the afternoon to celebrate Midnight in Ireland (at 5:00 p.m.), then to a nice dinner. Nothing crazy–we both fell asleep before midnight! Made it to the gym around 10:00 for some weights then 2,100m in the pool. Spent the rest of the day watching football and cheering the Buckeyes!
1/2: Off Work! Took advantage of sleeping in. First brick since November. 14.1 miles on the bike averaging 18.8 mph and 141 watts. Then, 35 minutes on the treadmill starting at 7.5 working down to 8.1–total of 4.6 miles. 1,650m in the pool in the evening.
1/3: Weights, then 1,250m in the morning. Workout in the evening–snowy and very icy, so I had to do this on the treadmill. 8 miles in 56:23 with 9 quarters under goal 5K pace and 3 quarters at goal half pace. Very tired at the end!
Running: 35.50 miles
Biking: 52.10 miles
Swimming: 3.11 miles
Weights: 2 hours
