Vanilla’s Training Log 1-11-15 to 1-17-15

Here goes another week in Boulder!

1/11:  In anticipation of my upcoming half, I headed out for my longest run since November.  Goal was at least 10, and I made it 10.3 miles.  My Garmin died about halfway through the run, so I estimated the distance based on my route.  I’m not gonna lie–I was tired for the rest of the day and had to go to bed early that night.

1/12:  Our off-site company retreat was scheduled from Monday afternoon through Wednesday.  I got in a short brick of 10 miles then 2 mile run.  Got up to Rocky Mountain National Park around 4pm and headed out for a 2 mile jog with some co-workers.  Watched the Buckeyes win big that night!

1/13:  4 miles before meetings.  7,500 ft high!

1/14:  One hour yoga–that’s right, an hour of yoga before meetings!  My co-worker is a yoga instructor and offered to hos a class in the morning.  I decided to break out of my comfort zone and go for it.  It wasn’t bad, and I felt a lot of toxins being released from my body which made me feel ill at times.  So, I guess it worked.  Discovered some tightness in my hips that I had no idea existed.  Not sure if/when I’ll go again, but I’m glad I went.  Later that night, I managed 6.3 miles in 35:33 with 6 x 500.  The yoga must have worked!

1/15:  Brought my dog to work for the morning, then ran 4.1 miles back to the office after dropping her off.  55 and sunny!  20.8 miles on the trainer later that night.

1/16:  30 minute ride/30 minute run before work.  Weights in the evening then another 30 minutes on the bike.  DOUBLE BIKE!

1/17:  Some weights than an easy 3 miles in the morning.  Tagged along with Jeff to the pool for a short swim of 850m.

Weekly Totals

Running:  35.7 miles

Biking:  48.45 miles

Swimming: .53 miles

Weights/Yoga:  2 hours
