For an Olympic year, this year’s Boston Marathon had some pretty cool moments. I’m thinking of Neely Spence Gracey placing ninth overall, first American, and seriously sprinting to the finish of her first full marathon!
The highlight of the elite race, in my opinion? Atsede Baysa’s amazing come from behind victory. At first it seemed Tirfi Tsegaye was a little paranoid looking over her shoulder, but then, all of a sudden, it was clear it wasn’t paranoia. Atsede, who had dropped far back behind the lead pack somewhere in Newton and was all but written off, had slowly been chipping away at the gap between her and the leaders. By the time Tirfi saw her as she glanced over her shoulder, she could tell Astsede was gunning for the win and in striking distance. At mile 24, Atsede caught the leaders. Tirfi tried to stay with her but, ultimately, Atsede Baysa bested her by 43 seconds.
So why, pray tell, am I writing a Boston recap in an astrology post? Because, Neely Spence Gracey and Atsede Baysa are both Aries! What about being an Aries helps Aries runners succeed? What must they overcome? Let’s find out! Read more >>
