Salty’s Training Log – 9.30.12

31 weeks! I need a photo of me in my next log. I am starting to feel gargantuan and must look pretty funny running at this point! I managed 5 days of running this week for the first time in a while, but I’ve scrapped any hope of a longer run. Maybe I’ll feel good one Sunday morning and make it 10+, but not this week.

This week featured 2 single stroller runs while son was in preschool, one solo evening run and then both weekend mornings were spent running and cheering on friends. Saturday I went down to the Akron Marathon and cheered on my teammate, who came in second and broke 3 hours for the first time! So exciting!!! I also saw Clove looking spectacular and then ran in with my friend Michelle who valiantly battled severe cramping to finish with her second BQ in 5 months!

Then this morning I ran with a good friend I haven’t seen in a while and caught up before heading out to a local 5k to watch Ginger try to finally break 22. I got in a few more miles and some great photos. I’ll let her tell you the rest!

Ginger around 2 miles in!

Mon: 7 with the single stroller.

Tue: 6.25 with the single stroller.

Wed: off

Thu: 5.5 on the roads from home by myself. GLORIOUS fall evening!

Fri: off

Sat: 6 around the Akron course.

Sun: 8.5 with 5.5ish with my friend early and then 3ish running around cheering and cooling down with Ginger.

Total: 33.25

Salty Running boss and mother of 3 little ones with PRs of 3:10:15 (26.2), 1:25:59 (13.1) and 18:15 (5k). I love to write about running culture, mental training, and fitting in a serious running habit with the rest of a busy life.

  1. Thanks again for coming! It was great seeing you twice in one weekend! I’ll share the log tomorrow but if anyone was wondering, I think I broke 22 (haha). 20:32 for 3 miles!
