Salty’s Training Log – 8.12.12 & 8.19.12

As the driver of this ship it’s a sad state of affairs when even I can’t get my log up in time! But last week I was still on vacation and didn’t get home until Monday night, so something had to give. I’m sure everyone will forgive if they even cared at all ๐Ÿ™‚

24 and 25 weeks and still getting in some decent runs. My mileage is not what it was and most days my paces are getting slower. It’s all right. I expect it, although I’d be lying if sometimes it wasn’t hard to accept. I know it’ll just get “worse” from here, then I’ll have a baby and then it will be rebuilding time. I’m looking really forward all of it and enjoying the now too!

Cinn and I witnessed this in State College, Pa. Amazing!

Vacation was awesome! I met Cinnamon and a bunch of other family members in State College, Pa. for a reunion. The kids had a blast, I had a blast, got to run in a beautiful area of the country and got to hang out with Cinnamon for the first time since we launched the site! We do this all separated by almost 500 miles! I’m a huge doof and forgot to take photos – it’s so hard to a) remember a camera, b) control two kids while trying to operate a camera and c) stop the action long enough to get to and focus and deal with a camera. Excuses, I know. We did run with the awesome Nittany Valley Running Club as I told you in last week’s Friday 5 and there’s a photo of us with some of the guys there.

This week I made the executive decision that I’m not going to run on Saturdays I’m working at the farmer’s market. It’s just too much to get up early and hustle veggies on my feet for 3+ hours, then take care of kids and run, especially when I’m expecting a long run on Sundays. So that means I’ll likely only run 5 days a week for a while and I’m ok with that. That also means I need to accept running 35-40 miles per week rather than the 40-45 I was shooting for. I’ll live!

Here are the numbers.

Week ending on 8.12.12 (vacation week so less miles – just too busy and pooped. Funny how vacation does that!)

Mon: 6 to and from fancytown from home with no watch. Just enjoyed a beautiful evening! (brought phone and water!)

Tue: 5 pushing the kids with my fellow pregnant friend Bridget who pushed her daughter.

Wed: off

Thu: Woke up 2 hours after I thought I set my alarm so no time to run before driving to Pa. Ran 4 on the college golf course before dinner.

Fri: 8 very hilly miles on a trail from the resort to campus around and back. Average around 9:15.

Sat: 10 with the Nittany Valley Running Club on some trails averaging 9:01.

Sun: too pooped. Slept in while husband ran!

Total: 33

Week ending 8.19.12

Mon: 6 in state college on the same path I ran last Thursday averaging 9:31. EXHAUSTED!

Tue: off. Too tired.

Wed: 10.5 on the bridle trails by myself averaging around 9:20. (brought phone and water!)

Thu: 5 easy pushing the kids.

Fri: 5 easy on a stroller date with my friend Bridget again. Love our dates!

Sat: off for farmer’s market.

Sun: 13.58 in 2:00:09. Felt good and kept the pace easy and really enjoyed it. Tired the last mile for sure, but gave me lots of confidence I can finish a half in a 3 weeks! 8 miles with awesome friend and Salty readers Michelle and Jen! (Thanks guys!!!)

Total: 40.08 (so happy to make it to 40!)
