Salty’s Training Log – 11.4.12

36 weeks! After a tough week last week and horrible weather from Sandy parking over us, I headed to the Y on Monday. I expected to maybe get in 3 or 4, but shocked myself with feeling pretty good for 10k. And then it happened again on Wednesday and Friday, when I managed to run 5 miles no problemo.

On Saturday, my friends and I got together for our annual fall pancake run. Every year around Halloween, after most of us have wrapped up our big training cycles for our fall A races, we get together for a trail run and then head out for breakfast after. I look forward to it every year! I was super happy that I was able to run this year at 36w3d pregnant!

Our first Pancake Run circa 2009 (that’s me a tiny 6 weeks pregnant with my daughter on the right)!
The 4th annual fall Pancake Run. 6 of us original pancake runners and several more! (That’s me – the giant lady in white, just a little more pregnant this time.)

Other than that I had a productive week. I finally baked an apple pie for my husband’s birthday on Tuesday while our internet was out ย (if you can’t work on the site, nothing better than trying to be domestic for once ๐Ÿ™‚ ย The kids spent much of the weekend at my mother’s house so my husband and I managed to clean our bedroom from top to bottom in anticipation of our new arrival. It’s one of those tasks that was stressing me out for weeks hanging there on my to-do list, but now it’s done! Yeah!

And then lastly, because of the storm, our trick or treating was moved to Sunday night, so last night my little goblins got WAY over-sugared, but had a great time.

Trick or Treat!

Mon: 6.2 on the treadmill! Somewhere in the 9:30 – 9:45 range.

Tue: Off. School was canceled because of the storm so I took the kids to early vote and out to lunch.

Wed: 5 on the treadmill about the same pace as Monday.

Thu: off for my ob appointment. Not much to get excited about yes – 1cm and 30% effaced.

Fri: 5 on the treadmill same pace range as the other days.

Sat: 4.3 with friends! Not sure on pace. Thought I’d run more, but once others were done I really didn’t feel like heading back out to add on so I didn’t.

Sun: Cleaned!

Total: 20.5

Salty Running boss and mother of 3 little ones with PRs of 3:10:15 (26.2), 1:25:59 (13.1) and 18:15 (5k). I love to write about running culture, mental training, and fitting in a serious running habit with the rest of a busy life.
