Salty’s Training Log – 10.7.12

32 Weeks! It was a crazy week. My husband was out of town for work all week, so I was on my own. I was ok the beginning of the week, but Wednesday was busy and I was frazzled. By the evening when my sitter came over I was too tired to run. Seriously. I had a sitter and couldn’t run! LAME! But, that’s life these days.

My husband came home Friday morning and was able to spend the day at home. This allowed me to get in a run and rest up for a crazy Saturday filled with farmers marketing and a wedding. I thought I was doomed to a no run weekend, but was surprised that after sleeping in a little and taking a decent nap, I was feeling good enough to head out for some miles in the cool October rain. I LOVE fall weather! And the good news is that I still feel relatively good running. I was done running at 33 weeks during my first pregnancy and I don’t feel close to having to give it up yet, so that’s some positive news.

In other less positive sounding news, but actually not as bad as I feared news, I was informed that my midwife practice (nurses) is handing me off to the OBs (doctors). Apparently, because of my heart condition (SVT) they feel they are not equipped to deal with me should my heart decide labor’s a great time to go nutso. I’m ok with that. I understand. The good news is that if I want, the midwife on call will come to the birth, so it will basically be the same. Unless I have an SVT episode, nothing should be different than it otherwise would be. I am relieved. I have to say, I was initially freaking out about the change this late in the game, but now I feel pretty comfortable with the whole set-up. I meet my new OB next week. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Lastly, I didn’t take pictures AGAIN this week. I was going to on today’s run, but it was raining. I know, lame excuse. I didn’t even get a shot with Pepper on our dinner date in Monday. I am such a bad blogger! So you’ll have to settle for a photo of my husband’s and my shenanigans in the wedding photo booth on Saturday night!

Almost 5 years of marriage and three kids and I still LOVE this guy!
