This was a weird week. At the beginning of the week I felt really blah. I felt unusually tired and unmotivated. I was really down about things and didn’t feel any of the usual joy I feel about spending time with the kids or *gasp* running. I even emailed Clove mid-run on Monday while I was nursing the baby to report that even a run wasn’t improving my mood. What’s up with that?
The answer lies within that statement! After weeks of not being interrupted by baby while running on the mill, she actually woke up mid-run, after nursing immediately before the run, to nurse again! She was nursing almost constantly – growth spurt! And by Wednesday I was down an additional 2 pounds to 142. I was literally sucked dry. Luckily, I adjusted and after a day off of running and a little extra rest, I was back to my old self and ready to roll out my tempo run for the week. I got it down to 7:14 pace for the 4 mile tempo and felt good! This is a great improvement from where I started just a few weeks ago when i averaged 30 seconds per mile slower, so I’m pleased. I also noticed that my easy paced runs felt a lot easier than they had the previous weeks so that’s good too. Things are moving a long.
By the weekend, the baby’s nursing spree appeared over, but then she started rolling over! She did it for the first time on Saturday and today (Monday) she’s barrel rolling across the room! We had an immediate confiscation and relocation of all the new Legos my big kids got for Easter! Things are about to get real interesting around here. Yikes!
As for the body, as I said I was down to 142 on Wednesday and still saw that number on Saturday. I’m afraid to look after I got a little too into the Easter candy. I have a weakness for Cadbury eggs and such. I haven’t been really bad, but bad enough!
