Rosemary’s Training Log 8-26-12

I am super excited to share that I ran SIXTY-TWO miles this week! Sh*t just got real! Well, maybe not. But for some reason, breaking into the 60’s makes me feel like I’m actually coming back instead of trying to come back. The cooler temps helped too. I even wore  a long sleeve tech shirt one morning, just because I could.

Monday- Easy 6.5 miles. I ran at the same time of day as every Monday, but managed a minute faster per mile.

Tuesday- 10 miles with 8 x 2 min on/2 min off. Tracked paces during the “on” portions, but didn’t look at them until the end. Ran 7:01, 6:32, 6:37, 6:27, 6:22, 6:39, 6:29, 6:23. (Remember the goal I set two weeks ago? Smashed it!) Talk about a runner’s high!

Wednesday- Easy 6.5 miles. Wore long sleeves and ran as slow as a troll.

Thursday- Easy 8 miles. Hard to get out of bed but enjoyed the run by the end.

Friday- 9 miles with 5 at < 7:50. Ran 7:36, 7:48, 7:73, 7:13, 7:01. Runfession: the last 2 miles were faster than necessary because I could feel two women on the path catching me. I saw them at my turn around point and at least one of them was on rollerblades but for some reason I was not about to let them catch me. Let’s try to channel that into some competitive racing, Rosemary!

Saturday- 8 miles with the Columbus Running Company in Dublin, Ohio. Ran with a teammate whom I am going to miss dearly as she is moving to Colorado this weekend. XOXO BA!

Sunday- Easy 14 with Rae. Rae continues to run strong, despite a summer cold virus, as she trains for her first marathon!

Saying “goodbye” to one of CRC’s finest runners, with the silly faces of the 2011 Club XC crew. I heart these ladies!

Hope you had a great week of training too!

I'm a pediatric physical therapist by day. Running mostly early am miles as I balance life as the mom of a toddler. With PR days in the past, my primary running goal is to be a lifelong runner. With 20+ years behind me, I still love the sport and I am truly grateful for every day I get to run.
