Raspberry’s Training Log – 7.17.16

Hello from Lake Tahoe! I’ve just come off my first recovery week and it was amazing! This is the first training program I’ve followed that has included such a significant drop in mileage during a recovery week. It was a little disconcerting at first to see that I only had to run a minimum of 19 miles this week, but after last weekend’s back to back long runs, I needed it! The timing worked out well: I spent the first half of the week in Sacramento for a conference and stayed at a friend’s house where it was a little impractical to run anyway. I also walked a lot around Sacramento which helped for some active recovery.

I ended the week with a short backpacking trip in the Tahoe area where I will be for the next week. While I didn’t do any running this weekend, I kept the Garmin going as long as the battery lasted, and I’m counting it as time on feet!

Monday – Rest

Tuesday – 3 miles easy

Wednesday – Rest

Thursday – 5 miles easy & core

Friday – 10 miles easy

Saturday – 9 miles backpacking

Sunday – 6 miles backpacking

Total Mileage Run: 18 miles Hike: 15 miles
