Oregano’s Training Log – 12.25.2015

The aftermath of our mud run.
The aftermath of our mud run! I am the less muddy one.

Plan for the week: Get in a long run and at least 30 miles while simultaneously enjoying a fun and hopefully relaxing Christmas and week off from work! I feel so fortunate that I am allowed to take two weeks off of work for Christmas!!

Saturday 12/19: Squeezed in a short run after going to two Christmas parties! Unfortunately I could tell I was definitely getting a cold. I guess this happens often when one goes from being really busy to taking a break. Run: 5 miles

Sunday 12/20: Fun, incredibly muddy morning run in Forest Park with a good friend. Run: 13 miles (trail)

Monday 12/21: The worst day of my cold. I decided to take the day off of running as this week was meant to be fairly chill anyway. Instead of running I got to hang out with my parents and do christmasy things.

Tuesday 12/22: Finally got a new washer and dryer!! It’s so nice to have time to get appliances! Run: 6 miles

Wednesday 12/23: Multi-tasked my run by running to my eye doctor appointment in a rain jacket (I didn’t want to sit there wet and cold while my eyes dilated). I got a few strange looks, but hey, it worked : ) Finished the night off with cookie baking and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Run: 7.5 miles

Thursday 12/24: Christmas Eve! I took the day off to hang out with my family and friends and cook foods. Planned Day Off.

Friday 12/25: Christmas! Such a wonderful day with my family! Planned Day Off.

Weekly Mileage:  31.5 Miles

Summary: I love Christmas, and this one was really wonderful. I’m excited to get back into regular training next week.

  1. Sounds like a solid holiday week! I love that you ran to your eye appointment. Once I ran to an ice cream date with my best dude friend, and he laughed the entire time at the sight of me literally into the ice cream shop! What can we say? Runners gonna run.

    1. Ha ha, totally. I find that running to meet friends for food is generally a bit more enjoyable than running home again ; )
