Plan for the week: Race and Recover.
Saturday 3/19: Race Day! Run: 31 miles
Sunday 3/20: Rest Day. Drove back home to Portland and did a lot of sitting around and eating.
Monday 3/21: Rest Day. I took the day off of work and caught up on groceries, laundry, etc.
Tuesday 3/22: Swim 1.5km + some aqua-jogging
Wednesday 3/23: Run: 5 miles I took it nice and easy, and it felt pretty good all things considered!
Thursday 3/24: Follow-up PT appointment after my race. Everything looks good! I guess running so much slower than I planned resulted in being far less sore than I would have been after a full race effort. Run: 5 miles
Friday 3/25: Rest Day. Worked from home and packed for my work trip to Korea.
Total Mileage: 41 miles
Summary: I didn’t meet my race goals, but recovery is going well!
Plan for the week: Work travel in Korea. It’s always challenging to get runs in around buys workdays when traveling. It’s nice that this trip coincided with a recovery week so it was less stressful! The week was full of meetings and conference rooms and also some good times with coworkers from the US and Korea (Korean BBQ, Karaoke, Sightseeing…).
Saturday 3/26: Ran in the morning before the long flight to Korea. Run: 7 miles
Sunday 3/27: Travel Day
Monday 3/28: Run: 3.5 miles on the treadmill
Tuesday 3/29: Run: 4 miles outside
Wednesday 3/30: Run: 4 miles outside
Thursday 3/31: Run: 4 miles outside
Friday 4/1: Run: 5 miles outside
Total Mileage: 27.5 miles
Summary: I survived and now I’m back home and it’s time to figure out what’s next!
