The great thing about living in South Texas is that once the stifling summer heat finally ends, we get some gorgeous fall mornings. This week was the first week of a cool front, and I got to enjoy some great weather.
Monday: 5.65 miles easy, 7:45 pace. This was supposed to be 5 miles, but I miscalculated a loop around my house.
Tuesday: Treadmill track day! 1 mile warmup, 6×1 miles at 6:58 with .25 recovery, .75 cooldown to make 9 total miles. Ideally I would have warmed up and cooled down longer, but I only had so much time before the kids woke up and 10 miles is a lot to do before the sun comes up! This was tough but I liked it better than the shorter, faster speed work. Later I taught 2 classes.
Wednesday: 5.35 miles easy at 7:58 pace. Obviously I had to do 5.35 instead of 6 to make up the difference from Monday. Later I took a yoga class.
Thursday: 2 mile warmup, 6 miles at goal HMP (7:08 ish), 1 mile cooldown. Total: 9 miles at 7:36 average. I did this on the treadmill so I could watch This Is Us (shocker ending again!). Later I taught 3 classes.
Friday: 5 miles easy, 8:07 pace. Later I taught 1 class.

Saturday: 10 miles easy, no watch. Later I taught 2 classes then ate every scrap of food in my house.
Sunday: Taught 1 class.
Total: 44 miles.
I feel good about the week, but I’m exhausted. I knew that I would be teaching some extra classes and that would take it’s toll on me, and it did! Next week I’m throwing in some extra yoga and a massage.
Great week! Makes me tired just reading about it! What’s the foot on the treadmill thing? Am I missing something?!
People put their shoes next to the display and get their shoe and their distance in the shot. I tried and almost pulled a hamstring.
Literally thought to myself there’s no way in hell I could get my foot up there. Bonus points for you!
We finally got decent weather in New Orleans, too! It made such a difference! The temperatures got back up into the 80’s by the weekend, but the lower humidity makes this feel like heaven.
Same here! I even wore a long-sleeved shirt on Saturday.
That’s so many classes (and running)! I’ve taught two hour-long Pilates classes back-to-back and by the end I don’t remember the word for elbow. Rock on!
great stuff! I often find I have to cut back the warm up and cool down on those hansons runs to fit it all in! I try and add to an easy run somewhere else in the week to balance it off.
Whew! That’s a lot of classes!
