Olive’s Boston Training Log-3.26.17

Peak week is officially done! This week I ran 62 miles (my highest ever!) , got my Boston passport, and I feel really fantastic. I didn’t let myself get excited for Boston because I was afraid that I’d get injured or burned out like in the past, but now that I’m so close and still feel physically good, I’m ready to go!

Monday-ย 8 easy, 7:39 pace. Later I taught 1 class.

Tuesday- 2 mile warmup, 3×2 miles @7:20 (:10 under goal pace) with .5 mile recovery, 1 cooldown. 10 total.

Wednesday- Long run Wednesday because I had time. 16 miles at 7:41 pace, and now my long runs are done! Later I taught 1 spin class .

Thursday-1 warmup, 10 miles at 7:30ish pace, 1 cool down. No one really likes 10 mile tempos, and I was pretty psyched to get that over with. Later I got a massage and taught a strength class.

Friday-7 easy, early treadmill miles (8:34 pace) and 1 strength class.

Saturday-taught 2 classes.

Sunday-8 miles easy, no watch, and taught 1 class.

I am a stay at home mom and group fitness instructor from South Texas. I love reading, wine, and travel. I write about trends, injury prevention and maintenance, and satire. I am training to break 1:30 in the half marathon sometime soon, and for the 2017 Boston Marathon.
