I am in full recovery mode still after the Wisconsin Marathon, but I am already thinking about summer racing and my fall marathon.
I have been feeling pretty good post-race, but for some reason my upper back has been very tight and sore. Hopefully that will subside with another week of recovery.
Last Week of Taper:
Monday – rest
Tuesday – 30 minutes easy / 3.6 / 8:49 pace
Wednesday – 5 minute warmup; 3 miles at goal race pace; 5 minute cool down – 34 minutes / 4.2 miles / 8:02 average pace
Thursday – off
Friday – 30 minutes easy / 3.5 / 8:29 pace
Saturday – Wisconsin Marathon – 3:44:57
First Week of Recovery
Monday-Friday – off
Saturday – 6 miles easy
Sunday – off / plant garden
It is amazing to me how much more time I have when I’m not getting up early to run! I’ve enjoyed catching up on sleep and getting some extra work done.
I plan to take it easy for the rest of the month and resume formal training June 1.
