The embiggening continues! This week I added a wee tiny bit of lap swimming to my aquajogging routine, mostly because I missed it. I’d given up on laps pretty early on because between the growing baby and being completely out of swimming shape, I had a hard time getting through more than a few lengths. However, I decided that a few lengths was fine with me and a good place to build from, so that’s what I did this week. I’m going to try and see if I can add a few lengths each time, because being in the water really does feel good these days. At least, until I climb out of the pool which is a harsh reminder of the fact that yes, I am bigger than I used to be.
Unfortunately, the week ended with the discovery that any caffeine during the day at all prevents me from sleeping, so Friday’s workout was lost in a sleepy, fuzzy haze. I snuck an extra walk in on Wednesday before yoga, so that’s fine, but the fact that even looking at a Diet Coke keeps me up all night is beyond annoying. I can’t believe that just a few short years ago I practically lived on the stuff, and now I need to avoid it if I ever want to sleep again. Grrr.
Monday: 1.8 mile walk
Tuesday: 30 minutes aquajogging
Wednesday AM: 2 mile walk
Wednesday PM: Prenatal yoga
Thursday: 4×25 freestyle + 30 minutes aquajogging
Saturday: Leisurely strolling around the state fair
Sunday: Rest & football
