Licorice’s Pregnancy & Training Log – Week 30

Week 30! Which means the little being I’m growing is about 75% done. While I can’t believe that there’s only about 8-12 weeks left until we meet the little bugger, I’m also hitting that point where I’m sort of ready to be Not Pregnant again.

The belly at 10, 20, and 30 weeks.
The belly at 10, 20, and 30 weeks. Looking back, I can’t believe I thought I was big at 20 weeks. Clearly I had no idea what I was talking about.

I finally made it back to prenatal yoga this week, too. It had been about 6 weeks since I’d been, thanks to a combination of travel and work, and wow. I picked the wrong 6 weeks to skip, that was for sure. The class felt about 200 times harder than the last time I was there, partially because I was out of practice and partially because I’m just not used to moving the Newly Giant Belly around. It definitely felt like quite the workout, which is funny given how easy the same class felt at 12 weeks.

I also got back into a walking routine this week, now that I was free of the Horrible Job. I was actually supposed to be camping during the first half of this week, but bailed on the trip at the last minute when the thought of spending several nights trying to get comfortable in a cabin bed sort of made me want to cry. I have no regrets.

Monday: Walk 1.75 miles

Tuesday: Aquajog 30 minutes

Wednesday: Prenatal yoga

Thursday: Aquajog 30 minutes

Friday: Walk 1.9 miles

Saturday: Rest

Sunday: Rest

In a previous life, I worked on computers and spent all day sitting. Thanks to running, I've rebooted my career and am now a running and triathlon coach and soon-to-be physical therapist. I've also got the mind and spirit of an elite trapped in the body of a back-of-the-packer.

  1. Good job taking care of yourself and baby! And (slightly belated) congrats on finishing school and your exam! The next 10-ish weeks are the best…just you and baby hanging out and bonding before anyone else can get in on the action. You may be 75% done, but the adventure is just beginning. Enjoy the walks and the yoga!
