Licorice’s Pregnancy and Training Log – 27 weeks

This week was pretty dull on the “training” front. I was in Michigan for the first half of the week then back in Seattle for the second half, but I just never got it together to get any sort of workout done.

I did, however, take (and pass!) my one hour glucose test. I feel like the majority of my friends have failed the one hour and had to take the three hour, so I was mentally prepared for that. I couldn’t believe my ears when I got the call from my doctor saying that the results were normal. Not only do I get to skip the three hour test, but I also get to keep baked goods in my life for the next 12 weeks. I’m pretty happy about that.

The other interesting thing to come out of that bloodwork was that I’m slightly anemic. This is pretty normal and common during pregnancy, and my doctor started me on an iron supplement to correct the issue. I’m hoping that this will buy me a bit more energy during the day, as I have been feeling pretty low lately.

Saturday: Rest

Sunday: Rest

 

In a previous life, I worked on computers and spent all day sitting. Thanks to running, I've rebooted my career and am now a running and triathlon coach and soon-to-be physical therapist. I've also got the mind and spirit of an elite trapped in the body of a back-of-the-packer.
