Ginger’s Training Log – 9-2-12

This is right around the corner. Are you ready? Image via http://www.ucfathletics.com.

I noticed that it was getting darker earlier this week. And while I love the smell of fall peaking through, I’m starting to get a little sad about colder runs heading this way. This week was heavy on the running front, and featured a horrible track workout on Tuesday but after that, I was able to regroup and finish out the week strong. I also asked James’s (and Salty and Pepper!) coach to coach me and he graciously agreed. Tomorrow, I will be running a Labor Day 5k and after that, we will decide where to proceed. I’ll be running the Columbus Half Marathon on October 21st so that will be the short term goal. I’m looking forward to a new approach and I am open to trying some different things, even if they are not easy. As for that 5k, well, 22 minutes? ย I’m coming to break you!

Sunday: 2 hours 3 minutes long run that featured a nice pickup in the last 15 minutes

Monday: 55 minutes easy at night

Tuesday: 72 minutes at the track with a blow up

Wednesday: 60 minutes easy with some pickups thrown in at the end

Thursday: 45 minutes easy with some more pickups thrown in at the end

Friday: 66 minute trail run with a friend

Saturday: 60 minutes easy on the trails

Total: 8 hours of running

I write about mindfulness, mental health, and the professional sport of running with the occasional poking fun at the sport. When I am not running, I'm either helping people as a counselor or trying to make them laugh as an amateur open mic comedian.
