Ginger’s Training Log – 12.20.15

Hi there! I had a few weeks away from the training logs. I took a week off from running to allow my legs some rest and clear up a small IT Band issue. After that week, I started back up slowly, running 4 days a week, all under 40 minutes at a time. I continued to cross train in between. That catches us up to now. I’m in a good place right now because it’s all base training. I haven’t done any workouts since my half marathon DNF. I’m eyeing some spring races beginning in March but like the feeling of just running right now, building fitness and a stronger, more durable body to withstand heavier training in the spring. In addition to twice weekly strength training, I have also been doing daily drills prescribed by my chiro, all of which are helping to keep me healthy.

I write about mindfulness, mental health, and the professional sport of running with the occasional poking fun at the sport. When I am not running, I'm either helping people as a counselor or trying to make them laugh as an amateur open mic comedian.
